3 Health Advice to reduce the risk of Heart attack in women

INFARCTION
- Pain squeezed in the chest, jaw and arm, are the most common heart attack symptoms. But in women, coronary accidents occur with other signs. Follow the leader.

Infarction does not affect men between 50 and 60 years who smoke, do some exercise and are overweight. It is also a female disease: one in three women will die of cardiovascular disease. By comparison, a twenty-five succumb to breast cancer. And while cases of myocardial infarction have been declining in men, the reverse is true among women over 55 years. Follow our tips to recognize that cardiovascular accident.

Smoking and stress, know the risk factors

The risk factors are smoking, high blood pressure (and stress), cholesterol, obesity, physical inactivity and alcohol. As for the man. But they do not have the same effect on the arteries of the woman, told MetroNews Professor Claire Mounier-Vehier, first vice-president of the Federation of Cardiology (FC).

The reason is physiological. The arteries of women are thinner and tear more easily. In addition, five years after menopause, the protective effect of natural estrogen, allowing the arteries to be flexible, dilated and prevent clots, disappears. In parallel, the rate of triglycerides and bad cholesterol increase. Result: "The arteries thicken, stiffen and are dirty."

Stomach pain and shortness of breath, recognize the symptoms

Now that you know that myocardial also affects women, learn to recognize the symptoms . The most common is chest pain, the feeling of grip in the chest. But women also develop other symptoms such as stomach pain may suggest a gastric ulcer, vomiting, shortness of breath on exertion or palpitations. Well beware, they may also reflect cardiac risk.

Call 15 and follow a cardiac rehabilitation

What worries the vice-presidency of the (FC) is that women are "sitters." When one of them has symptoms of heart attack, it takes an hour longer than a man before calling the ambulance. But it is important to act quickly to unclog arteries and limit the extent of infarction. To do this, you'd better call the ambulance, which will take the patient directly to a cardiology department.

Another problem, "we must give them kicking butt so they follow a rehabilitation after stroke, whereas it reduces the risk of recurrence. " In fact, only one in ten women following rehabilitation. A glimmer of hope remains: "Women become informed vectors prevention among their friends and colleagues." Have a ball.

How to manage stress?

Born about 50 years ago, the word "stress" is used every day, st r ess because invades increasingly our daily lives, whether it is called positive stress, which makes us exist now awakening our body (with a doping effect naturally), or said negative stress alters our psyche and our physical and endangers our lives, especially if prolonged.

Stress wave to tidal

According to the definition of Agress (Association of research groups and study on stress and health), stress is the physical process, chemical or emotional, by exercising in the body, causes tension can become pathological . Insofar as the stress response of the body to a situation considered aggressive, we first deal with a physiological response. This reaction proceeds in three phases.

The first phase, initial or alarm is common to stress the positive and negative stress. Nervous system and the endocrine system produce hormones (including adrenaline and cortisone), while the cardiovascular system runaway. All causes increased blood pressure, rapid pulse and breathing, but sweating, redness, dilated pupils ... When this phase is relatively short and infrequent, it motivates, dope, overcomes its limitations , to adapt to changes, to be more effective. This is called positive stress. The athlete's starting line for example, or the lover (to) at the time of his statement ...

If the tense situation continues, you enter the second phase: phase of adaptation or resistance, in which the body remains constant alert ... until he eventually falter and fall.

It then enters the third phase, the exhaustion phase, during which the psychic energy reserves and body are overwhelmed and collapsed. It is at this point that it becomes very vulnerable. The person has a number of symptoms and behaviors directly related to perceived stress.

Beware of psychic and somatic consequences of stress

The impact of stress on physical and mental health differ from one individual to another. Indeed, the phenomenon depends on several criteria (physical, chemical, social, family ...), whose personal history of each individual and his representations of pleasure and pain. It is unclear why some people react more or less evil and more or less the same time constraints causing stress. Genetic factors and the ability (learned or spontaneous) to manage emotions, however, are concerned.

All organs may be affected by the persistence of hormonal imbalances, stress plant pathological consequences: headaches, stomach pain, hypertension, insomnia, back pain, myocardial infarction (yes!). We also know that stress has a negative effect on serious diseases such as cancer, and it alters the effectiveness of treatments. The cure is worse and longer to settle.

Of course, the mind is not still face repetition or perpetuation of stress as anxiety, addictions or mental depression are classic symptoms of stress. The news in recent months has provided examples of extreme stress leading to professional suicide by exhaustion.

Prevention is always better than cure for stress

The first treatment against stress is prevention through eviction or removal of stressful situations. However, the historical and social pressure is in the opposite direction towards more daily tensions. Soulimani Rachid, president of the Agress, then said "it is not a cure for stress, but prepare for the future of a society that is becoming increasingly stressful." Should therefore find ways to live with and make an asset rather than a handicap ...

For this purpose, four important points to emphasize: education, prevention when possible, a good diet (not toxic but a vitamin supplement if necessary), a healthy physical (sports, exercise) and mental (fulfilling relationships, leisure, culture and joy of simple pleasures). Even if they do not have the power to eliminate stressful situations, those conditions of life can effectively fight against negative stress and avoid collapse.

Out of the besieged citadel

Stress is often feel stuck in a besieged citadel. To leave a review with the doctor is desirable. Anything that can correct and counteract stress should be implemented, such spaces Recovery and contentment (valves!) Before considering medication to reduce stress-related symptoms, as there is a risk drug dependency if the situation persists.

The doctor treats all stress responses (hypertension, cardiovascular fragility ...). Psychotherapy support, particularly cognitive-behavioral therapy, give good results and are intended to anticipate stressful situations and manage them better. It is also an opportunity to see an entire way of life unsuited to the deepest needs of the person. It is not insignificant that psychiatrists note addictologists currently expanding an addiction professional or personal stress, stress tended to performance and perfection ...

Health And Safety Definition Of Stress

Stress and Health: Defining

Stress is a condition resulting from certain psychological events (trauma, anxiety, anger, frustration, grief, overwork, depression, etc. ...) or biological (surgery, variations in temperature. In the body causing changes may be the cause of more or less serious disturbances, such as depression of the immune system.

What happens there in our body during stress? Can schematize the stress reactions trigger by classifying them into two categories according to their purpose?

1 - body adapting to the situation to respond optimally: for example, when one is assaulted, physically defend themselves or flee.

2 - decrease pain during physical stress.

For this, it is necessary that certain hormones are secreted: it is they that will trigger physiological responses.

To return to our example:

1 - During an attack, adrenaline (a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands) will cause rapid heartbeat, increased blood pressure, and vessel contraction of certain muscles, releasing sugar blood. ... all these reactions designed to put the body on alert and action.

2 - When the stress of pain, endorphins (morphine kinds of natural, secreted by the hypothalamus, in particular) will block the transmission of pain sensation between the area where the pain is caused and when it is perceived by the brain.

The adrenaline and endorphins are obviously not the only hormones that occur during stress.

You can also include, among others:

  • cortisol (cortisone naturally secreted by the adrenal glands), which mobilizes energy reserves of the body corticotropin (secreted by the hypothalamus) that activates the pituitary noradrenaline.
  • These hormones have in common that participate in the response to stress, but also to curb the immune response.

What is the relationship between stress and the immune system?
We do not know the exact relationship between the different types of cells (immune, nervous and hormonal): it seems; however, that too much stress is the cause of a failure of the immune system (which becomes less able to defend the body against attacks of all kinds). Thus, macrophages, a variety of white blood cells destined to participate in the defense of our body against microbes, suddenly become very lazy during depression, for example.

Researchers have particularly highlighted as:

  • high levels of endorphins are causing a decrease in the activity of certain types of white blood cells called natural killer cells in the body.
  • Adrenaline and cortisol (natural hormone, cortisone is the body) produced by the adrenal glands (located above each kidney) reduce the potential defense of another variety of white blood cells T.

Stress and disease

Recently, there has been evidence that there is a close relationship between stress and disease in general.

On cortisol for example, the mechanism seems to be the following: cortisol circulates through the blood of the adrenal glands to the brain. There, it binds to many neurons and triggers reactions in nerve cells. Among these reactions, there is such a major release of Ca2 + (ionized calcium). However, an excess of calcium can be harmful to cells: neurons in calcium overloaded die. Therefore, chronic stress caused premature aging of the brain.

Immune system or hematopoietic system: the origin of the manufacture of cells involved in the body's defense.
It consists of:

  • thymus (organ located between the neck and chest, causing the formation of a variety of white blood cell)
  • bone marrow
  • the spleen
  • lymph

A priori, there is no relationship between the immune system responsible for defending the body against external aggressions (microbial or other), and the nervous system in general.

However, all of its components is closely related to the autonomic nervous system (self-regulated). Indeed, U.S. researchers have revealed the presence of neurotransmitters may bind to immune cells and allowing them to grow more effectively to destroy the invaders (germs). A neurotransmitter is a chemical substance (also called neurotransmitter) produced by the body and allow nerve cells (neurons) to transmit nerve impulses (messages) between them or between a neuron and a variety of other cells in the body (muscles, glands). Researchers have shown that hormones secreted by the pituitary gland (located at the base of the brain is somehow the "leader" of the other glands in the body) are likely to increase or inhibit the ability of immune cells to fight against the disease.

Sub-arachnoid hemorrhage diagnosed

How the condition diagnosed?
Intense and sudden headache with neck stiffness and eventually the veil of consciousness is typical of this disease. Suspicion of subarachnoid hemorrhage, the patient will be hospitalized immediately. It is often difficult to exclude this condition based on medical history and findings on medical examination alone. The final diagnosis is made by CT scan of the brain or if the CT scanned is normal and strong suspicion, by lumbar puncture with the detection of blood in the fluid around the spinal cord (cerebrospinal fluid). Spinal puncture may reveal even the smallest flow.

CT reveals the majority of bleeding, but not the least. The survey is quicker to perform than MRI of the brain and demonstrated with greater precision bleeding the first day. The probability of finding subarachnoid blood on brain CT on the same day 95%, on day 3 is the 74% and after three, weeks almost zero.

reference standard diagnosis subarachnoid hemorrhage

Injection of contrast fluid in the brain's blood vessels ( angiography ) or CT angiography can localize the vessel that bleeds. The survey is a preliminary to the operation and requires the patient's condition is so stable that surgery is appropriate. Detection of the aneurysm in the skull as the possible or likely cause of the bleeding is done by CT angiography, X-ray angiography or additional MRI diagnostics.

When it is shown that the bleeding is caused by an aneurysm, it is important to secure the patient against re-bleeding as soon as possible.

Symptoms and signs of sub-arachnoid hemorrhage

This type of stroke begins at most with a sudden and severe headache that is so intense that you have not experienced before. The headache can regularly start on one side, or in mind often you also stiff neck and nausea.

Stroke rehabilitation program spontaneous improvement

Spontaneous improvement
Most stroke patients get better by itself. Shortly after the battle, some skills have been lost, begin to come back again. This trend is most prominent in the early weeks, but it can sometimes continue for a long time.

Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation begins early. It aims to help stroke patients to preserve the functions or skills, regain lost skills and eventually become independent as possible (see rehabilitation after stroke ). The rehabilitation starts already during acute treatment. For many patients continue to participate in a joint training program and / or individual training. Many decisions regarding rehabilitation taken by the patient, family, and stroke unit before discharge from the hospital. From the hospital, many stroke patients transferred to rehabilitation center or nursing home for further training, while others may go directly home.

spontaneous improvement after stroke

The final phase in stroke treatment begins when you come home after acute care and rehabilitation. This phase can last a lifetime in which the stroke survivors, and their families learn to live with the damage during the battle. This includes making everyday tasks in new ways or by transferring tasks from a weakened body part to the fresh. For example. One can learn to write with your other hand.

Depression and Women

In most cases, is metabolized to inactive metabolites, of which 10% is excreted unchanged via the kidneys. Depression is a disease as widespread as odious as it affects the way we see ourselves, others and the world around us. If m many of its symptoms are known, often little is known about the relationship that exists between some forms of depression and women. If the woman wants a commonplace prone to depression because of his "weakness or tenderness, the studies show how depression is common among men and women, but some forms are more prevalent among women.

The reasons for this are, however, be found for a set of factors that weaves genetics, hormonal changes, negative life events, use of certain drugs or substances and specific diseases, and socio-affective.

It is estimated that up to 25% of women suffer from depression at some point in life. The incidence of depression differs between men and women began to emerge in adolescence, with an emphasis on differences over age. Women, in fact, seem to suffer more than men over between 18 and 44 years, and particularly after 25. They return to be more at risk than men over 65, while the band between 44 and 65 seems to show a lower incidence of depression in women.

But what makes women, especially in these age groups are more exposed to suffer from depression? The reasons are many and here try to include some forms of depression as well as those popular and sometimes their women.

For example, there is a relationship between depression and chemical imbalances in the brain. These alterations may be caused by hormonal changes or impassioned reactions to daily events or traumatic are often accompanied by anxiety and insecurity. As an illustration, the rush of the hormone levels of estrogen and progesterone in some particular moments (puberty, childbirth, menopause, menstrual cycle), leads to an alteration in the mood, as well as, emotional stress and mood swings can cause alterations hormone.

In other cases, however, the mood swings can be related to the period of motherhood, especially in the first days and weeks following the birth to the child. The fluctuations are so common as to be considered normal, but it is true that some women may deepen and extend these feelings to be articulated as a Post-Partum Depression. It 'important to remember that women are more susceptible to this disease are people who have previously suffered from depression or, conversely, are more vulnerable if they have subsequently suffered from post-partum depression.

There are also signs of its age: in fact, young women, especially during adolescence, they see a distorted image of its cover, with a loss of appetite and a general sense of unhappiness that may have an impact on academic, and working on their nutritional balance. The older women, however, think more to its failures and gray moments from their lives, feeling a sense of emptiness, and sometimes neglect and lack of long-term relationships.

This overview should prompt us never to take lightly the symptoms they perceive, understand how the factors that lead to depression can be many and to be combated with a thorough course of treatment that helps people to know and learn strategies to deal with the depression, by identifying the triggers and learning to deal with them.

Meditating

Meditating well done as one solution to overcoming depression for those who have never tried to meditate on you will only understand it through practice.

By meditating, we'll be relaxed, relaxed, not tense. Scientifically, when we are strained or depressed brain will produce hormones that cause a calming effect on the body.

High levels of depression suppress the brain's ability to produce these hormones. With meditation, the brain will gain strength and increase its natural ability to produce this hormone. Even meditation is "aware" for some time to provide long-term positive effects for healthy brain and immune system.

Meditate regularly and consistently enhance one's ability to cope with depression. Not just physical, soul becomes healthy with our meditation.

Many views are wrong about meditation as an exercise for a particular religion or belief. In fact, meditation actually helps the human spiritual intelligence, regardless of any belief that was followed.

Meditation increases the ability to concentrate. Culminate in a calm and peaceful feeling. The art of meditation has been developed in many places over long periods of time. Study the arts and enhance your natural ability to defend against depression.

How to start meditating?

Sit back, relax all parts from the body and relax the mind as well. We're not talking about the meditation again. We just sit with the body, and mind relaxed, the same as when we finish a tough job. We work hard, tired, and we rest on our body relaxes.

No need to think anything. No need to trouble yourself with thinking about everything for a few moments when "rest" realized that we are being relaxed for some time. After a while, we will realize that we're relaxed while we relaxed, we control our mind. Easy is not it?

That is meditation relaxation. Do it within a period not too long before? If you do it regularly you will develop skills. Remember to always be conscious, because attention is the key to meditate. Remind yourself not to think anything for some time. And you will relax your mind.

It could also complement uses such as aroma therapy or soft music. Do it every day and observe the changes yourself?

Relaxation Meditation is so easy to do; we just relax our bodies and minds. However, meditation relaxation had one difficulty.

Because it is easily done, meditation relaxation becomes so difficult to do. Why? Because we do not believe it. Our brains get used to analyze various things. We are always connecting with something outside of meditation our habits:) our thinking about meditation so handcuffed our thinking. We got to think, what we really have to meditate? Why is it easy? I even then will culminate in mind, that by not thinking anything meaningful meditation and think something not meditated absolutely not so. In the last review, I said that all meditation was the key concern. Let's look at other techniques and as easily

For those who love reading and meditation techniques certainly try out with the breath technique. For those who have not heard it is the technique.

Sit straight with your back directly. Relax all parts from the body. Relax your mind as well. You can close your eyes if you want if not, look at one point in front of you during meditation. Notice your breath. Notice when breathed. Notice when breathing out. Do not deliberately set breath. Just look at interesting or out of breath.

Do not think of anything other than your breath. You also may note in the liver. While breathing in, note the liver when breathing out, notes in his heart. Next time your mind distracted, switch back to pay attention to breathing.

Do not be disappointed or angry because the mind distracted. It has become the basic nature of human thought to think of something.

Just keep breathing until you end the session that day. After a while, you will feel the serenity in the hearts and minds. What happened?

It direct attention of mind in the breath brain concentrates attention on only one thing we do, that is breathing. For a while, you just breathe (think of breathing).
Because merely think of one thing only, making the intensity of concentration, which is so big brain's concentration of developing attention. Attention developed calmness. Tranquility developed policies, including the sense of joy. Fun generated happiness.

In meditation, there is no specific thing that must be prepared. Of course if there are things that can help us in the concentrate will be fun for us to start the session today. It's all possible.

However, the problem is that not everyone has the same reception for one thing. There is no guarantee to say that doing one thing will always work for everyone. Even be different for the same person on distinct days. Perhaps you yourself have experienced it.

For example, you may experience heavy pressure on the office today. When you go home and do the meditation sessions during the day, you feel calm and have a strong motivation to solve your problems. The next day in the office you receive praise from superiors and colleagues. Everything looks beautiful you are happy that day. You are so cheap smile and laugh a lot.

When you start a meditation session that day, you find you are so hard to concentrate. You always remember your boss, and co-workers compliment. You feel that promotions stay at the office just counting the days.

Why? I give the illustrations.

Imagine that the mind is like a little kid 5 years old, He is so obedient, to follow whatever you say. However, when he ran with a merrily, laughing happily he started not listening to you. He kept running and laughing; you are subsequently you come running after him, caught him and later sat. When sitting he then tried to run again, and you have to chase anymore.

Such is the nature to the mind. Because that's important for you to pay attention to the mind and tried to relax the mind. Convince yourself for not thinking anything "just" for some time during the session that day. Only by regularly do it, you'll understand what I mean.
