Submental liposuction: What is it?

Submental liposuction is a surgical procedure that removes excess localized fat under the chin (double chin) and neck. It is by a tiny incision in the fat off and suck with a cannula connected to a vacuum cleaner. The fat cells are destroyed and sucked and does not recur. The effects are sustainable if there is no weight regain. It can be combined with liposuction of the cheeks, and sometimes another intervention, such as a facelift.

Who is the facial liposuction?

This technique is practiced more in men than in women, usually around the age of 40-45 years.
Neck and chin can benefit from liposuction as the skin is not excessive and that the strap underlying muscle is good. Otherwise, the skin retraction is less and the emergence of "strings" and "baleen vertical" may affect the quality of the result.

More than age, surgeons attach great importance to the quality of the skin. Liposuction can not do everything: it has no effect on fripures skin.

How is the facial liposuction?

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia supplemented with sedation, or general anesthesia. After infiltration of an anesthetic solution and vasoconstrictor (which constricts blood vessels) to lighten areas, a cannula is inserted under the skin by opening skin minimal. This instrument permits obtained by suction using a syringe or a machine to suck the excess fat.

Moving back and forth, and cover the area to be vacuumed.
The cannula is recommended for face 2 mm in diameter and shall not exceed 3 mm.
Residual scars are hidden behind the ears and under the chin to the neck.
Great detail the procedure takes about 1 hour.
