Chronic lymphocytic leukemia

Inside the hollow part of the bone marrow are the spongy bone from razor heads. It is produced by the cells. Stem cells are immature cells during the development of blood components: body, white blood cells to fight infection, and platelets that help blood to conquer, with less bleeding, red blood cells carry oxygen around.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a type of cancer where the bone marrow produces too many lymphocytes. The term "chronic" means that cancer cells reproduce slowly, and that it takes a long time to develop the disease. In CLL, the lymphocytes are produced, abnormal and unable to fight infections. The number of irregular lymphocytes from the blood and bone marrow are removed as such an increase; fewer healthy white blood cells, platelets and red blood cells are produced. Important. This can cause symptoms such as fatigue, recurrent infections, anemia and easy bruising occurs.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is usually no symptoms in early stages. Prognosis and treatment depend on the phase of the disease. Average treatment is vigorously pending ("attentive waiting"), radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, and monoclonal antibody therapy. Transplantation of stem cells from bone marrow is another type of treatment being tested in trials. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia is the subsequent nearly everyone frequent leukemia in adults, and often occurs after the Middle Ages. CLL is not widespread in children.
