Eye rejuvenation: Blepharoplasty gaze

How Does blepharoplasty?

With age, the eyes may undergo different patients: accumulation of fat or excess skin at the upper and lower eyelids, loss of fat from the lower eyelids, sagging eyebrows ... resulting in drooping eyelids or cap, bags under the eyes or a ring hollow look older.

For each of these defects, cosmetic surgery solutions exist. Acts on the eyelids are grouped under the term "blepharoplasty." It is common to combine intervention at eye level with a facelift.

How to correct droopy eyelids or sagging with excess skin (dermochalasis)?

It performs a "skin resection" (the excess is removed) by conventional surgery or laser surgery. For the upper eyelid, the incision is made in the natural crease of the eyelid to avoid a scar. For lower eyelids, it is made along the lash line.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and tranquilizers (neuroleptics). General anesthesia may be performed if multiple interventions are planned (eg simultaneous operation of upper and lower eyelids). It is not painful and takes 20 minutes for the upper eyelid, 45 minutes to the lower eyelid.

After surgery, ice pockets are put in place to reduce edema (swelling) and ecchymosis (bruises), which still often persist for several days. Wearing tinted glasses and a "downtime" of ten days are expected. A total sun protection should be applied to the scar for 1 month.

A normal appearance is obtained after a fortnight, the scar becomes invisible after 2 months. Aging can then reproduce the same damage but the result keeps a dozen years.

How to fix unsightly bags and puffy eyes with excess fat (lipoptose)?

It removes excess fat by conventional surgery or laser ablation. If the bag is not associated with sagging skin (young subjects), it passes through the inside of the eyelid (transconjunctival route) to avoid scarring. If the pocket is associated with sagging skin (elderly), you pass through sub-ciliary (as for dermochalasis).

The procedure is done under local anesthesia and tranquilizers (neuroleptics). General anesthesia may be performed if multiple interventions are planned (eg simultaneous operation of the eyelids and bags). It is not painful and lasts 45 minutes.

After surgery, ice pockets are put in place to reduce edema (swelling) and ecchymosis (bruises), which still often persist for several days. Wearing tinted glasses and a "downtime" of ten days are expected. The result is usually permanent.
