The causes of Parkinson's disease

What are the causes of Parkinson's disease? In reality, they are not known accurately.

Parkinson's disease is one of the degenerative diseases of the central nervous system. The term degenerative finally a little awkward, untimely death means a progressive and irreversible population, i.e. the neurons of the substantia nigra.

Many hypotheses have been advanced. If they are often attractive, they are not necessarily accurate. For example, it appears that emotional shock or trauma, eventually implicated in the onset of this disease whose evolution is gradual and without remission, or in some cases, the cause of onset of Parkinson's disease. There is no certainty about this.

Other medical teams have advanced the possibility of stress or trauma like that can cause Parkinson's disease. It seems that they reveal and promote this neurological disease.

There has been talk for some time, an infectious cause was quickly abandoned.
Thereafter, we referred to an immunological cause, that is to say, that the patient would manufacture antibodies against its own tissues. This track was also abandoned.

Parkinson's disease is sometimes associated with genetic mutations on genes, specifically PARK2 (locus 6q25.2-q27), and PARK6 PARK7 (locus 1p36) or SNCA (locus 4q21).

One of the most serious tracks, which was also abandoned, was that of heredity. However, there are families in which there is a greater number of people than others. It is the familial form of Parkinson's disease even though, a gene has been identified in a few families from Greece or southern Italy: it is a gene that encodes a substance called the alpha-syncline. It is a protein found in certain neurons.

Another track is much more serious than poisoning by substances, perhaps MPTP, some herbicides in the environment. This substance has not been demonstrated clearly, for the moment.

Hypothesis combines genetic and environmental factors. It seems that the loss of the dopamine neuron's manufacturers would be related to their genetic vulnerability. This genetic vulnerability is linked to the presence of toxic agents in the environment could accelerate the destruction of dopaminergic neurons.
