Psychomotor development of 0-1 year
Neuro development
Brain maturation begins in the womb, but you can get an idea of neurological development of the child in the first months of life. Indeed, insofar as it is the brain that ensures all learning, motor development, sensory and cognitive and especially the interaction with others are essential and valuable indicators of neurological development of the child.
Although variations exist from one child to the other, less ominous sign or bizarre medical advice is crucial if necessary to reassure or confirm the need for supervision or an early care a possible neurological dysfunction.
Motor development
During the first year, the stages of the baby weight after her spine, from the head to the legs. Psychomotor skills therefore follow that path.
First, the baby learns to hold his head up to 3 months, then it starts to control his movements: he manages to return to 4-5 months to recover only then to sit without support at 7-8 months .
A month later, when it is able to recover with support, it can pass only station lying to sitting and vice versa. For some, it is the beginning of the period (at 10 months), which enables him to discover crawl space.
When the baby arrives to stand with support, we feel that the physical ability to walk is not far. Generally, a baby is physically able to walk at 12-13 months.
Motor finer level, the baby is able, at 6 months, catching only objects within reach discovering the independence of his hands. And if, at 7 months, he uses his thumb for a more fine motor skills, he uses the clamp thumb / index to 9 months to observe the objects before putting them in the mouth or let them go.
Dominance side (right, left) was gradually between 6 and 12 months, although some children are ambidextrous. At the end of the first year, he knows and loves emptying, filling and stacking. He also began to imitate his entourage (phone, playing with dolls, cars roll ...) and drink only the glass.
Awakening the senses
Up to 2 months, the baby's field of vision is blurred limited. He uses his hands to grab spontaneous reflex (grasping). To 3 months, when he begins to see more clearly, he grabs what he seeks. But it is about 5 months that the link between vision and prehension. And as he is able to close his hand on seized thing ... he puts it in his mouth, the taste is the first senses.
Sensitive to sounds from the sixth month of pregnancy, the baby recognizes his mother tongue from the first month. You can hear the sound of his voice to two months, his first laugh and first to cry voluntary three months, but he babbles deliberately to 4-5 months of age, when he discovered the link between his mouth and speaking.
He loves to babble 6-10 months, he discovered that words have meaning to nine months because he realizes that the same word always refers to the same thing. Seeking to imitate those who speak, he can say his first word at 11 months.
Interaction with other
Interaction with others begins with the first smiles (from birth to 2 months but voluntary) and sounds to call his mother, but especially early trade manuals, although nine months before, they can not really be on its own initiative.
From 9 months, however, he already knows throwing a ball, clap their hands, pointing, thus attracting the attention of others and share a moment of games, all against the background of babble and laughter. And as it is often able to move, he can choose toys that he wants to play and people to whom he wants to go.
