What is the College of Pharmacists?
The National Order of Pharmacists is organized into seven sections (A, B, C, D, E, G, H). Pharmacists holders (owners) of a pharmacy are grouped in section A. Section D administers pharmacy assistants (employees) in pharmacies. Each section has a central council, composed primarily of elected officials appointed by pharmacists. Central council of each section is in charge of the examination of applications for registration, but is also the disciplinary chamber. A single section has a regionalized structure: each of the 21 regions defined by the legislator has a Regional Council of the College of Pharmacists (CROP). Besides the central councils, the National Council represents pharmacists with national and international bodies.
