  • Great difficulty breathing and feeling of wanting to choke

  • Strong cold sweat and pale skin
  • Dizziness

Acute pulmonary edema can, as a rule do not prevent; however, since heart disease is the most frequent cause of pulmonic edema, the following important measures to reduce your risk for future pulmonary edema:
  • Controlling blood pressure
  • Managing a high cholesterol
  • Do not smoke.
  • Eat a healthy diet
  • Be a little careful with the salt
  • Exercising regularly
  • Avoid excess weight
  • Try to reduce stress
Some people think that supplements of folate (a B vitamin) is beneficial.
